Sanctus and Agnus Dei

Both the 'Sanctus' and 'Agnus Dei' belong to a short liturgical Mass, the Missa Maria Magdalene, which takes its name from the Anglican church in Wandsworth Common where John is organist. A longer version of 'Sanctus' is available for non-liturgical performances and 'Agnus Dei' comes from the oratorio Omnia.

The Missa is affectionately dedicated to the memory of Reader John Jeffery and Bishop Hugh Montefiore of St Mary Magdalene Church. It is written for four-part (SATB) choir and organ and was first performed by Medici Choir during High Mass at St Hedwig's Cathedral, Berlin, on 5 June 2005.
