Medici Choir in Venice |

Medici Choir continued their 'world tour' with a trip to Venice in November 2002,
performing at the church of San Simeone Profeta in S. Croce. The programme made
the most of our wide ranging repertoire-everything from a Beatles medley to
Vivaldi's Gloria. Highlights included Ariel Ramirez's Misa Criolla, and the
Advent carol 'Tu scende dalle stelle' (with audience participation!). We also
joined the church choir for their Sunday morning Mass.
As well as singing and rehearsing, the choir found time to relax and enjoy Venice-even if most of it was submerged under the acqua alta!-with trips to Murano, Burano, the Ghetto and the Peggy Guggenheim collection, not to mention shopping for those designer wellies! The world tour continued with a trip to Salzburg.... |
